Grade Four English Corner News
2014-04-09
In the afternoon of 4thApril 2014 (Friday), students of Grade Four gathered at the school hall to attend their English Corner, which was a student-based event and placed its emphases on oral English practices and skill improvements.
There were three parts for the English Corner, self-introduction, story-tellings and find the differences. Self-introduction was a straight-forward part that most students were able to tell the test teachers about their personal information with regard to the name, class, family, friends, hobbies and favourite things. However, the ideas of telling stories and spotting picture differences are of interests to stimulate student observations, logical thinkings and deductions. These thinking skills are very important to student life-long learning and it has long been our school’s faith to equip students with such skills in every chance.
During the English Corner, grade four students generally showed their confidence and enthusiasm. Their abilities to interact with test teachers in English were quite impressive not only to the extend of the good use of vocabularies and structures, but the logical interpretation of story as well.
This English Corner marked grade four students’ progress in English learning and acted as a platform to enhance all-round skills of them, at the same time the students all took pleasure of their preparations and they looked forward to the participations of the next English event.
