Last Friday, annual English Market taken place at school hall and all Grade 4 students had fun in it. English Market is an activity aiming at promoting English learning and game enjoyment.

There were six language games at the counters and each of which were ran by student staff. The games centred differently on vocabularies, sentences, reactions and puzzles, so students’ learning preferences and levels were fully served.

Looking into the activity, students first got in line to do the games. Then vouchers were awarded for each correct answer and that became an exchange of different prizes such as stationeries and snacks. Some students liked to challenge difficult puzzles while some liked to put themselves in easier ones. They never looked discouraged of not getting the answer right and apparently they felt very much excited when efforts were rewarded tangibly. 40-minute English Market ended up with laughters and unsatisfying pleasure of students.

Throughout the English Market, it makes an important experience for students to develop an awareness of order and service. Apart from that, students have been able to apply what they learned into game activities.
