Story-telling Competition of Grade 4
2016-12-05
Grade Four students have welcomed their story-telling contest on Friday afternoon - before the weekend.
The contest took the form that each class had to present two different stories either in a group or individually. It also allowed performing on the stage. With this idea, students were able to fully participate before and during the contest as a planner and a listener.
There were eight stories being heard and watched. The stories were in a wide range that included comic, moral, exploratoryones. Two Cinderella plays have gained the most laughter and applause of audiences as actors and actresses were performing as perfect as they could - when some scripts were just hard for Grade 4 students.
The contest ended up by awarding the prizes in the sense of attributing all actors and actresses’ great efforts to presenting some great stories to their fellow schoolmates. Teachers were happy to see how students broke their comfort-zones to have confidently acted out the stories that were very nice and inspiring.
English stories help develop students vision and some set of English mind, which are critical factors to learning English better. As it is our school’s teaching principle, we encourage all kinds of reading, included reading in English. We hope that students will explore English reading world to a greater extent after this successfully-held story-telling competition.
